Don’t Wait to Lien. How the Coronavirus is Impacting Lien and Bond Claim Deadlines

We all know you have 45 days to serve a Notice to Owner and 90 days to record your lien, but how has the Coronavirus changed these deadlines?  Today I talk to Nick Fernandez of The Barthet Construction Law Firm about some of the side effects the Coronavirus is causing on timely securing your rights to be paid.  We discuss some best practices on ways to avoid having to lien (like a written payment plan with the debtor) to the difficulties in waiting until the last minute to record your lien or serve your bond claim (like the police preventing Nick from entering the recording office with a client’s lien).  You can reach Nick or me at 305-347-5290 with questions.

Make sure to follow us on our dedicated COVID-19 page as well as our podcast, YouTube videos and social media including Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Stay safe and healthy.
