About the AIA:
As the construction industry standard, AIA Contract Documents continues to be used by a large number of construction professionals. Updates are made to the core set of documents every 10 years to ensure design and construction projects are protected. Some of the major changes for 2017 include a single Sustainable Exhibit that can be added to any AIA document, new agreements containing a fill point to prompt the parties to discuss and insert an appropriate “Termination Fee” for terminations for convenience, and an added evaluation provision by the architect if the contractor proposes alternative means and methods.
